This Wednesday night, August 20th, we are going to step out of the box and have a chance to serve and be missionaries within Our Church for the Staff of Bel Air Pres. in an effort from the Finding specifically to uplift and thank those who work so hard to keep the church running smoothly as we near to a close with our 2-month series on MISSIONS: Sharing your Faith with a Missionary’s Heart Outlook - and the different ways God uses us in our lives to affect those around us.

Where/When: THE FINDING!! Wednesday, August 20th at 8:15pm in Evans Chapel (up the hill from the Main Sanctuary).

Who/What: We will be fellowshipping with each other as we find our own ways of thanking the Staff of Bel Air for all of their hard work in helping grow the church - learning what it means to serve even within our own church community. A night you won’t want to miss.

Howdy Finderinos!

I have to admit, I’m a little disappointed at our turnout for the Union Rescue Mission this past weekend. I don’t know how to stress the fact more that there are desperate people that need our help and will go hungry if we are not there to give it! I know it’s easy to think “someone else will cover it,” but that’s just not true–we *all* need to step up and get our hands dirty in order to serve the Lord like he has asked us to. Like Keenan was saying last Wednesday, we need to be a missionary no matter what our situation is!

At any rate, stay tuned for some changes in how service is going to be offered at The Finding–I’m going to try my darnedest to eliminate any barriers y’all might have! In the mean time, check out Bel Air Pres’ service page for more opportunities to serve!

In honor of the 2008 Summer Olympics, the Finding is holding a competition of it’s own! The 1ST ANNUAL FINDING OLYMPIC GAMES!!!! THIS Saturday, August 23rd! Details below….

WHO: You and all your Finding friends (competing on teams of 4-6)
WHAT: 2008 FINDING OLYMPICS
WHEN: Saturday, August 23rd @ 2:00 PM - whenever
WHERE: Santa Monica Beach (We will meet just north of the pier by the volleyball courts)
WHY: Cause it’s summer-time, Olympic season, and you know you want to have some fun in the sun competing with your friends! :)

The events you can look forward to:
Team: Tug of War, Relay, Volleyball, Sand Castle Building Contest
Individual: Watermelon Eating Competition, Frisbee Toss, Water Balloon Toss, Wheel Barrow Race

Come help your team strive for Finding Olympic gold, silver, or bronze!!! “Medals” to be awarded!!!! (Please plan on wearing clothes that can get dirty - preferably a t-shirt and shorts over a swimsuit - as you WILL get dirty!!!)
There will be a sign-up sheet at the Finding on Wednesday. We really need people to sign-up ahead of time, so that we can put together teams! (You can also email Meredith @ merdizzle@gmail.com, if you plan on coming!) It will be lots of fun in the sand and sun - I promise - hope to see you all there!!! :)
