A reminder that this upcoming Saturday, May 17th is our monthly service trip to the Union Rescue Mission. For those that don’t know, The Union Rescue Mission is the nation’s largest homeless shelter, housing upwards of 900 people per night. This Saturday we’ll have the chance to prepare and serve dinner as well as pray for the homeless–if you’ve ever wanted to come join us to serve dinner to the homeless downtown, now is the time!

We are going to be meeting at 3:15 PM in the Bel Air Pres lower parking lot (across Mulholland, south of the Church campus) to carpool over together, finishing up by 8:00 PM. It really is an amazing experience and a great way to get some service and fellowship in. I really cannot stress enough that we need a good number of people to come along to be able to function well at dinner–we end up serving a lot of people!

Please e-mail me back if you are interested in coming or have further questions. Planning goes much smoother if I can get a decent count before we meet up on Saturday. It gives me a chance to make sure everyone has the proper directions–which I have included as an attachment if you want meet us there. If you do plan on meeting us there, expect to arrive at the rescue mission between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM (there is a parking garage underneath).

Don’t forget to wear closed-toed shoes!

URM is at 545 S. San Pedro Street, 213-347-6300, on right hand of street.
